It doesn’t have to but we highly recommend doing so to get the best performance. Velcro, Dual Lock, etc. are common and effective as well as zip ties. If using zip ties, take care not to obstruct the sliding rail. For the M90, thin zip ties can be attached vertically just to the right of the rail and horizontally below the foot switch.
The M90 is built for the current MXR Phase 90 (M101). To the best of our knowledge this will fit the majority of Phase 90s that have been sold over the past several decades.
Please note that vintage MXR pedals, both script and block, are incompatible due to the non-flush input/output jacks. If you are interested in getting a Sole Control for a vintage pedal please contact us and let us know.

We’ve designed this to hold up using robust materials, so our 1 year warranty includes parts and labor and return shipping back to you within Continental USA. You are responsible to ship it to us. If we find repairs are needed because of misuse, abuse or neglect than we cannot cover the repairs for free. All that said, we want YOU to be happy and to keep playing so please Contact Us prior to sending it back and we will try to resolve it as best we can, such as shipping you a part for DIY repair.
